Still, strewn in the haze<br />
Smoke, thick and choking<br />
Two eyes,he saw through this glaze!<br />

Deep and sad, walnut hazel<br />
They just kept looking at him<br />
Tears of pain<br />
Or<br />
The smokey room<br />
Those were ponds of clear water<br />
And murky depths!<br />
<br />
Proceed, he couldn't<br />
His brush, now dry.<br />
Dipped in some oil<br />
He set out to give it a try.<br />
He set his eyes<br />
And took a stride<br />
Resolute<br />
To paint a visage<br />
To cast a smiler<br />
To breathe life.<br />
<br />
And still in those eyes<br />
He hung lost<br />
A statue<br />
His hand raised<br />
Mind, numb. </blockquote>
