Hmmm, never thought that I'd be writing about a Nickelback song. Theirs are the songs that I like for hearing once in a while. However, in their album, <em>Silver Side Up</em>, there is a song called <em>Never Again</em>! Man, the lyrics blow my mind. Simple sentences, phrases put together that brings alive a story. The story is told many a times, but never like this ;-)!<br />

</div></blockquote><div align="right"><div align="left">What's amazing about this song is that there are no complicated sentences, but the way these simple words are arranged have such a powerful meaning. From what I have read the lyrics, I think it's the story of a kid who's seeing his mother being hit by his father. <br />

The first stanza sets up the scene of a rowdy father. <br />
<br />
The second stanza talks about the thoughts running in his mind after seeing what is happening in front of his eyes. <br />
<br />
The third stanza and the main chorus plays out what the kid is probably telling himself.<br />
<br />
The fourth stanza talks about the hospital scene and wow!! <br />
<br />
Fast forward to the second last stanza and he talks about the mother finally deciding to react! This is where I was blown over. The sentence in this stanza <em>Same old shit, just on a different night</em>, and <em>Tonight she'll find ut how fucking tough is this man</em>, and <em>Pulls the trigger as fast as she can, NEVER AGAIN</em>. Wow, that holds so much meaning. Never again to pull the trigger, Never again would he harm him, Never again would this boy see his mother getting beaten to pulp.<br />

The next stanza - the last two sentences - <em>She's just a woman NEVER AGAIN</em>. WOW!! She's no longer just a woman!!! She's turned a savior for herself.!!<br />

Kudos Nickelback!! I mean... Whoa, got some respects for ya man now... ;-)!<br />

P.S. The best part of the whole thing is that I could clearly see a video coming outta this.. The vdo is going round and round in my head. Wonder why they didn't come up with this song faster?? Talk about bad product and album management!!<br />
