They’ve discussed all sorts of ways to bring the two systems together — from running the current version of macOS on beefier iPads to building a new type of operating system befitting a hybrid product. There’s even been talk of completely folding together the Mac and iPad app ecosystems.

From their quotes to Apple’s ears. I hope they find the courage to do this. I cannot fathom going back to an iPad at this point. The hardware continues to be incredible. However, modulo some seriously cool new ways for inter process communication and allowing the various things that are now possible thanks to LLMs.
