@gurupanguji

I am curious about people, systems and technology. I love to photograph, build with technology and making music.

I am kind.

I approach everything with good faith.

I work hard to make sure people are heard effectively.

I don’t hold myself to preconceived notions and work collaboratively to find truth.

I keep a high bar for myself.

I keep a cool head during crises.

I am good at communicating salient points of a complex system and tailoring it across a wide range of audience.

So, I am often brought in to build user facing products with technically complex platforms and solve a variety of ambiguous problems that all lead to cohesively moving a system forward. I’ve honed these skills across Chrome, Amazon and FIS – by delighting billions of users from how they watch movies to how they pay for their groceries.

At Chrome, I delighted users by making media streaming better from their large screen TVs to their mobile phones by enabling developers to target a single, large web-platform.

I also ensured that the web would never have to pay royalty for media innovation by convincing competing entities to partner and build new royalty free video codecs together, proving success with VP9 and leveraging that to setup the Alliance for Open media.

I convinced Amazon to enter last mile delivery, by ensuring packages get delivered for free while reducing the overall environment footprint and at a significantly lower cost structure by developing AmazonDay.

I helped supercharge a commerce system that now accounts for 15-20% of India’s GDP by developing India’s favorite mobile payments app - Google Pay (nee Tez and building its merchant ecosystem.

I currently ensure that millions of users and hundreds of billions of dollars are protected from fraud by building a transformational fraud platform at FIS.

I don’t usually post about work here. However, if you came here and have a question about a product management career, send me an email at gurupanguji@gurupanguji.com.
