Read the whole thread. My notes:
- The Opal team have engineered for scale, repairability and upgradability for their own purposes
- This makes my heart fill with joy when I see that good engineering makes life for the company and their customers easier.
- With modern chips, it would have been very easy for Opal to have put a check to make sure that only their camera modules would pass a check to continue working. I am so happy they didn't.
