Subjectively, the 2026 is a loss of character for the McLaren. It feels like just another generic F1 car. The lack of the papaya is particularly strange given how easy it was to detect the McLaren over the last 2 years and the new fans they'd have gained who don't have the history of McLaren's other liveries to rely on.
To be fair, apparently this is the "testing livery." So, we might be just waiting to see the papaya uniform being unveiled at a later time.
In any case, nothing but wishes for the team. I am rooting for Piastri as usual. However, 2026 is going to be nuts no matter how you slice it given the changes - more electric power, more tools available to drivers and the pivot away from ground effect rules.
p.s. I am also not a fan of the smaller wheels despite how I felt strange when we moved to the larger wheels.
