We are in an age of pretty strong technological shifts. Even if the underlying platform doesn’t reach its ambitious and at times, incredible promises, the fact that software development is now more accessible than ever means that it will also unleash the creativity of so many people who have an itch to scratch.
As a fan of tmux, I wanted to point you to cmux. It’s a terminal emulator that focuses on solving the multi-intra-project and inter-project terminal requirements using the visual model of tmux.
It’s based on libghostty and as a result is fast and modern. But it hasn’t replaced ghostty for me yet because of one thing: their browser integration. It’s an abomination.
Between multiple vscode forks, playwright / equivalent and now cmux, the number of chromium instances in a development machine is ballooning beyond control. I don’t need my terminal also to feature a browser.
But it does provide a great mental model of organizing your terminal windows, for those of us who like the terminals.
