I have linked to Bill McClintock and his epic mash-ups before. This is still my all-time favorite.
It should not work this well. Metallica, Megadeth, and The Who sound like the kind of idea that should collapse into pure gimmick after thirty seconds. Instead it locks in. The whole thing has swagger, precision, and just enough chaos to make the payoff feel earned.
What I love about a mash-up like this is that it exposes the hidden mechanics inside songs I thought I already knew. The riffs, the phrasing, the attitude, the weird shared geometry of rock music from different corners and decades. Suddenly the distance between them does not feel that large.
This one still makes me grin.
