I’ve seen the re-entry of the Apollo missions hundreds of times and wondered what people felt when their fellow humans left Earth and came back. It truly is surreal.

I know there are millions of things that are probably wrong in this world today. However, space flight puts things in perspective. There are so many variables and they braved through all of that to a successful splashdown after going the farthest away from Earth by any human - EVER!

I am hopeful that we will brave even more such adventures. That spaceflight will truly become normal and even mundane like flying on airplanes today.

Today, though - I am in awe of this crew’s bravery - to the thousands of NASA scientists and mission coordinators who did what was needed to make this mission happen and be successful.

Y’all deserve a moment of peace to celebrate and the world is right there with you.
